A CBAM report requires some basic information about your company. This data is
outlined below:
Company name
Company address
EORI Code
This is a company identifier that is used in the European Union and which
is shown in your customs declarations. The first two characters of this code
indicate the country in which your company is registered.
Customs declarations are the basis and starting point of a CBAM report as
they determine which specific goods need to be included in the CBAM report. This data exists in a variety of different formats, all of which are compatible
with the CBAMBOO platform.
One of the most common and
most standard is the Single Administrative Documents format. This is
the actual document that is submitted by your customs agent/broker to the customs
authorities and is usually in a PDF format that you will receive with each shipment. This is a standardised document, which varies slightly from country to country,
but that is guaranteed to have the relevant data for the CBAM reports. It contains
a set of numbered fields, with each one identifying a data points. They look
like the example shown below:
Some customs broker share the customs declarations data in a format that they
have either created themselves, or that is generated by a software that they
use. These documents might look similar to the SAD document and should include
the same information.
Other customs brokers will also be able to provide digital files with the
data on your imports. This is the most useful type of file for CBAMBOO, as it
is easier to load into the platform.
In order to calculate the embedded emissions that your company has imported
over a period of time, we need to be able to match each one of your imports to
the manufacturer of the goods. This is data that is not always found in your customs declarations, but it’s
likely to be available in your procurement records. It is important to match this
data to your customs declarations to identify who the manufacturer is.
You can upload any new data to the CBAMBOO platform via the Data Sources section
of the app. There’s more information on the My Imports section of the documentation.
