CBAM Default Values Explorer

Default values are emissions factors that importers can use in place of actual emissions factors that may be difficult to obtain for the first three CBAM reports. From the report due on October 2024 onwards, CBAM reports will need actual emissions data, collected from each installation where the imported goods were made.

The EU Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) produced a report that contains estimated emissions factors for CBAM goods, and which covers the EUs main trading partners. The default values that were published by the Commission at the end of last year are based on the weighted average values from this report.

Cbamboo has compiled this data into an interactive tool to let you compare emissions intensities by product and country.
