CBAMBOO Pro gives procurement and finance leaders real-time visibility on millions of euros of CBAM charges, so that they can take early action
CBAMBOO, the leading platform for CBAM management, today launches CBAMBOO Pro to give industrial companies insights into the CBAM costs of their purchases in real time.
Using CBAMBOO Pro, finance and procurement leaders can track CBAM liabilities as they are incurred, rather than discovering hidden costs months later.
CBAMBOO Pro saves money for companies with its accurate and speedy data-gathering. A typical mid-sized steel importer could save €750 000 a year* on their CBAM tax bill, or €37.50 per ton, by calculating supply chain emissions data with CBAMBOO Pro instead of relying on default values.
Fully updated for the latest EU legislation, CBAMBOO Pro is ready for demo calls today.
See your company’s tax exposure in real time
Existing CBAM software only tracks goods after they arrive at EU ports. It’s a backwards-looking process that puts companies at risk of unexpected CBAM penalties and does nothing to help with supplier negotiations.
By contrast, CBAMBOO Pro starts with purchase orders – commitments to buy– and uses AI analytics alongside CBAMBOO’s supply chain network to calculate future CBAM costs on a per-purchase order basis.
The timing is urgent. CBAM taxes on imports will start in January 2026. But industrial goods take months to arrive in the EU, meaning that purchases made today will likely face charges on import that could run to millions of euros.
CBAMBOO Pro is designed around CBAM certificates, which importers will have to buy to settle their CBAM charges. CBAMBOO customers can time their certificate purchases, track outstanding payments and access third-party certificate hedging services.
Track, report and take action on CBAM today
Emelie Olsson, Customer Success Lead at CBAMBOO, said:
“By accurately predicting the cost of future CBAM certificates, CBAMBOO Pro helps businesses set aside the right amount of cash ahead of time. There’s no risk of sticker shock once CBAM payments are due. Steel importers want to factor CBAM costs into every supplier RFQ, but that’s been impossible until now."
With CBAMBOO Pro’s forecasts, they are in control and can pass charges on to their own customers if they choose.
“Our customers process CBAM calculations in minutes, not weeks – giving compliance teams their time back.”
Key features of CBAMBOO Pro include:
• Purchase order tracking: Instant CBAM cost calculation when purchase orders are created, so that you know your exposure from Day 1
• Supply chain data links: Extract emissions data from multiple supply chain tiers in a CBAM-compliant format, avoiding the use of costly default values
• Procurement decisions based on real CBAM costs: Compare suppliers on CBAM efficiency, allowing you to optimise spending
• CBAM certificate planning: Understand exactly the CBAM certificates you’ll need to buy in 2027, and estimate their cost so that you can accurately budget for future cash outflows
• From import data to CBAM reports: CBAMBOO’s user-friendly compliance workflow converts your imports records into XML, ready for upload to the European Commission’s Registry in a single click
• Connect with hedging partners to lock in CBAM prices: Reduce the risk of future increases in CBAM costs by accessing CBAM certificate hedges
Completely updated for the latest regulation
CBAMBOO Pro is the first software on the market to incorporate the Omnibus CBAM regulation, currently being finalised by the EU. That regulation includes a de minimis of 50 tons and a revised timetable for the purchase of CBAM certificates, both of which are reflected in the design of CBAMBOO Pro.
Hedging services are provided by third parties in partnership with CBAMBOO.Forthcoming updates from Brussels, such as the definitive set of CBAM benchmarks and default values, will be added into CBAMBOO Pro as soon as they are available later this year. CBAMBOO will also add support for UK CBAM once its rules have been finalised.
Additionally, CBAMBOO Pro will soon go beyond CBAM to include calculations of anti-dumping and countervailing duties, giving industrial companies an all-in-one tool for them to track both global CBAM costs and other trade costs associated with planned transactions.
“Purchases today mean CBAM charges tomorrow.” said Gabriel Rozenberg, co-founder and CEO of CBAMBOO.
“European industrial leaders are too often unaware of the money that’s at stake when they agree to import CBAM goods. By the time they fill in a compliance report, it’s far too late to do anything."
“With CBAMBOO Pro, managers know what’s coming, giving them a negotiating advantage with their suppliers."
“CBAMBOO Pro shines a light on the price of CBAM and helps managers to reduce costs at the point of transaction.”
From basic compliance to deep insights across the enterprise
With the introduction of CBAMBOO Pro, CBAMBOO now offers three distinct product offerings that span the range of CBAM needs.
CBAMBOO Basic, the entry-level offering focused on automated supply chain data management and compliance, is becoming more affordable than ever, with substantial price cuts at every usage tier. CBAMBOO Basic subscriptions now start at €9 000 per year for subscriptions covering up to 1 000 tons of imported CBAM goods.
CBAMBOO Pro itself builds on the success of Advanced Access, the company’s original flagship product. All existing customers on Advanced Access will automatically be upgraded to CBAMBOO Pro at no extra cost. Prices for CBAMBOO Pro start at €19 000 per year for imports of up to 1 000 tons.
For enterprise customers with bespoke ERP integration needs, CBAMBOO offers its Innovation Partnership tier, which includes up to 50 hours of direct developer support with a dedicated Integrations Manager. Innovation Partnership subscriptions start at €31 000 per year.
Finally, non-EU based suppliers of CBAM goods can continue to use the CBAMBOO Platform as an Operator completely free of charge. Using CBAMBOO’s Carbon Flow tools they can compile their CBAM data with ease and share that data with their customers.
*Example calculation: an importer buys 20kt of steel from a supplier with 2 tCO2e/t emissions operating in a region with zero carbon prices. Default values are set at 2.5 tCO2e/t, the allowance phase-in benchmark is set at 1 tCO2e/t, EUAs are priced at €75. In year 1, such an importer would pay €2 287 500 in CBAM charges if using default values, but only €1 537 500 if using accurate emissions data, a saving of €750 000 or €37.50 per ton.
